About climbup.io

climbup.io is a pay-to-rank leaderboard. Every listing on the board is a website someone put money behind, and the amount is the only thing that decides its position. No algorithm, no editorial picks, no ads sold on the side — the ranking is simply the bids, sorted.

Anyone can add a URL or an @handle, choose an amount, and appear immediately. Anyone can then pay more to move above it. That is the whole mechanic, and watching it move is the point.

How the ranking works

What you can list

Categories

Each listing sits in one of 28 categories, and every category is its own ranking with its own leader. Browse them on the categories page — it shows how many listings each one holds, the current top bid, and who is leading it right now.

About the money

Bids are paid in cryptocurrency through NOWPayments, which handles the checkout. No card details are ever asked for, and no payment details reach this site — it only learns that an invoice was settled.

A bid reaches the board when the payment does, not before. Crypto takes a few minutes to confirm; until then you have a link showing your bid as pending, and you can close the page. Only the difference between the old amount and your new total is charged.

The board can keep moving while a payment confirms. If it does, the amount you paid still counts in full — it is added to whatever the listing holds at that moment, so it may simply buy a lower position than you were aiming for. Money paid is never lost.

Listings, bids, clicks, categories, and activity all live in a SQLite database on this server, with no external service in between.
